Hi, my name is Daphne and
I’m the creator of the “I Love My Mac”
song.
I have a diploma in classical piano performance from the
Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and also studied
jazz piano, film scoring and orchestration for several
years each.
I especially loved my studies in jazz because it opened up
a whole new world for me - a world which allows the artist
to be more creative and therefore opens many more
possibilities in the area of composition.
Orchestration is also one of my big favourites because it
puts a very powerful set of tools in the composer’s
hand. Thanks to the advances in modern computer technology,
composers now have the affordable luxury of creating music
in any genre that tickles their fancy, and for any number
of instruments.
Prior to January of 2004, I was using Cubase to create my
music and for my orchestral works, I used notation
software. Since GarageBand became available however, I have
been using it to create my music almost exclusively. It is
so simple to use, yet so powerful with all its many
features, that it really is the software of choice if what
you really want to do is to capture your musical ideas
right out of the hat.
I have a large repertoire of musical creations, from pop to
rock to jazz to orchestral to children’s to
theatrical and spoken word to classical, so if you liked
this song, and you want to hear all the different things
that I do, head on over to my namesake website www.daphna.ca. I’m sure there
is something there for everyone, no matter what your
musical tastes.
Writing music is what I do for my livelihood, so if you are
one of the many fans who have enjoyed “I Love My
Mac” or if you are a new fan, please head on over to
the iTunes Music Store to purchase my songs that are now
available there.
In addition to that I’m always working on new
material and if you leave me your email address in the
guestbook, I’ll keep you posted with occasional news
updates.
Thanks again and I hope you enjoy.
